Be the Business is working alongside Mastercard UK, Enterprise Nation and Digital Boost for the Strive UK initiative to support business owners from a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background

Who are Be the Business?

Be the Business is an independent not for profit organization with a single goal – to help small and medium businesses improve their productivity and performance. It is supported by the UK Government and some of the UK’s leading companies. It provides free programmes, resources and support for small business leaders. It’s two flagship programmes which are free for small business leaders to access are:

Be the Business Mentoring – provides small business leaders with free access to an experienced business mentor to act as a sounding board and impartial advisor to help a small business leader grow their business or overcome business challenges.

Be the Business Boards provides small business leaders with non-executive director style support from a group of experienced businesspeople made up of leaders and senior managers from successful firms with specialisms like finance, marketing, operations or HR.

Be the Business is offering free support programmes to micro and small business leaders within the Black, Asian and minority communities to enable them to succeed in the digital economy. The free support programmes include access to tailored guidance on tech adoption, access to a free advisory board, and personalised, one-to-one mentoring.

Plunkett UK Grants

Plunkett UK is a charity that works to support groups to set up community businesses, helping them to save their assets and run them in a sustainable and impactful way.

With funding from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, Plunkett is currently able to offer early-stage community businesses free advice and support on how to get their business off the ground, including guidance on community engagement, legal structures, business planning and raising the funds to do it.
