Amongst those sharing their expertise will be local entrepreneur Scott Weavers-Wright, who was behind Kiddicare’s journey to become a multi-channel business at the edge of innovation in the UK.

Scott will inspire local businesses to explore their own potential for growth as he explains how Kiddicare used technology to provide the best possible service for the customer, develop its competitive advantage and transform the business into a national brand – all whilst funding growth without selling equity.

The event will also include interactive workshops to help businesses understand different approaches to business growth, share ideas that will enable individual businesses to grow or diversify, and hear about the support available to businesses locally. HM Prison Stocken is also taking part in the event to share how it is working with the local business community to create new opportunities.

The event is being organised by Stamford Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, New College Stamford and South Kesteven District Council.

Neil Darwin, Chief Executive of Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP, said:

“Supporting the growth of our local businesses is an important part of the work we do here at the LEP. We understand that an appropriately trained and motivated workforce makes all the difference in business, which is why we are sponsoring this Grow Your Business event.

“Our CPCA Growth Hub team will be on hand during the event to connect businesses to the help, support and funding they need to grow – from local training opportunities through to grant funding for new equipment. I would encourage as many businesses as possible to attend the event to find out how they can grow their business.”

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:

“It’s crucial to maintaining business confidence that we recognise the success of our local business community and we hope that this engaging event will inspire continued growth across a wide range of business sectors.”
